Teams of students take on strategic projects in the charity sector.
QConsult Community is a brand new programme that gives Queen Mary students the unique opportunity to consult on a project in the voluntary sector. Project teams of 3-5 students spend up to 1 day a week over 6 weeks working on the solution to a challenge, problem or project within a not-for-profit organisation. Built from the award-winning QProjects programme, QConsult Community is focused on meaningful projects that create social change.
QConsult Community will give you a unique opportunity to apply your learning to a real-life challenge faced by a local charity in your community. You’ll be acquiring the coveted skills that all employers are looking for; research, problem solving and project management. Throughout the project you’ll receive invaluable training as well as the opportunity to build your professional networks – not to mention the new friends you’ll make.
To find out about individual, rather than team projects, see our QProjects page.
To participate in the programme, you will need to be able to devote 5 hours per week over the 5 week placement period, as well as attend the training and workshops in the weeks before and after. Details of these are provided in our information guide.
We’re looking for conscientious, driven students who are excited at the prospect of seeing their ideas in action. QConsult Community is open to all current students; we’re not looking for any particular year, degree subject or background – just the motivation and desire to see your ideas put into action in a professional environment.
