Information sessions, interactive workshops and mock assessments led by the Civil Service.
QInsight is a Careers & Enterprise scheme that partners with a prestigious graduate recruiter to develop a series of sessions that allow you to increase your commercial awareness of the host organisation, get tips and practice their rigorous graduate recruitment processes and network with both recent graduates and senior members of staff. The over-arching goal of QInsight is to increase your success in graduate application processes, whatever the role and sector. QInsight is a QMUL Model Extra opportunity. We are pleased to confirm that the Civil Service will be hosting QInsight again in 2018-19.
QInsight: Civil Service Fast Stream
This is your opportunity to develop a deep insight into the Civil Service, its culture, its diversity internship programmes, career paths and its application and recruitment methods. You will attend information sessions, interactive workshops and mock assessments led by the Civil Service as well as visit their offices, where networking is facilitated. Students who complete the scheme will increase their knowledge of the Civil Service and experience of common graduate selection methods, professional networking and commercial awareness.
What have past student participants said?
“The highlight was the trips to places as it makes it more interesting and realistic as you can imagine the setting and types of people you'd meet. Meeting the actual people from the civil service and asking for their honest insight into the roles ahead.” – QInsight: Civil Service Fast Stream participant
“The module was very well run and the opportunity to listen to speakers who are currently working within the Civil Service was very interesting. There was a good amount of feedback given and the presentations were very clear.” – QInsight: Civil Service Fast Stream participant
“The breakdown of the assessment centre helped me become more confident to attend assessment centres now.” – QInsight: Civil Service Fast Stream participant
