Our job is to support all things entrepreneurial here at QMUL. We want to work with you to develop an ecosystem that encourages students and alumni to learn business skills and launch businesses and social enterprises. This work takes many forms, so there is no excuse not to get involved!
If you would like to sit down and chat with somebody from the Enterprise team about your business idea, starting a business more generally or anything else enterprise-related, either give us a call on 02078828533 or visit the Careers Information Desk (WG3, Queens’ Building).
If you would like funding to help test your business ideas or develop your business, we have three funding awards available: Try It (£500), Grow It (£5,000) and Build It (£10,000). You can find more information on deadlines and the application process here.
Funding also comes with a place on InQUBEate, our eight-week incubator programme. InQUBEate gathers all funded teams each week for learning, workshops and mentoring around each stage of getting as business off the ground.
The internet is full of free resources for learning about all stages of business development, from idea generation to legal arrangements. We’ve curated the best of these here. We'll continue to refresh these resources, and are always open to suggestions!
Throughout the year our events programme features workshops, speaker events, panels, networking opportunities and more. There will be something for you regardless of what stage you're at on your entrepreneurial journey , so be sure to sign up to our events calendar.
We also run particularly exciting bootcamp events, most notably 3DS and The East London Social Hack. These weekends are high-energy, fun, intensive opportunities to learn how to get businesses off the ground, meet entrepreneurial students, network with mentors and experts and, quite possible, launch your own business …
We also collaborate with a number of excellent student societies. We highly encourage you to get involved with the QMUL Startups Society and Enactus to develop business skills, learn more about the entrepreneurial ecosystem and meet like-minded friends and collaborators.
