Starting your own business

Our job is to support all things entrepreneurial here at QMUL. We want to work with you to develop an ecosystem that encourages students and alumni to learn business skills and launch businesses and social enterprises. This work takes many forms, so there is no excuse not to get involved!

Are you a QMUL student interested in learning how to develop an idea into a real business or social enterprise?

QIncubator is a new high-impact entrepreneurship development programme – developed from InQUBEate - that provides a testing ground for projects at idea-stage and early-stage. You don't need a fully formed business idea, just a passion and lots of entrepreneurial talent.

The 12-week programme combines enterprise training, industry connections, expert coaching and peer learning to accelerate success.

To find out more about the programme and how to apply, click HERE.

We’re on the hunt for the most innovative businesses and social enterprises emerging from QMUL.

We're offering you the opportunity to win up to £10,000 in equity-free awards, as well as expert mentoring and dedicated start-up support through our 12-week QIncubator programme.

If you have an idea for a business that you’d like to start or grow we have Try It (up to £500), Grow It (up to £5,000) and Build It (up to £10,000) funding awards available.

If you would like to sit down and chat with somebody from the Enterprise team about your business idea, starting a business more generally or anything else enterprise-related, either give us a call on 02078828533 or visit the Careers Information Desk (WG3, Queens’ Building).

We also run particularly exciting bootcamp events, most notably 3DS and The East London Social Hack. These weekends are high-energy, fun, intensive opportunities to learn how to get businesses off the ground, meet entrepreneurial students, network with mentors and experts and, quite possible, launch your own business …

We also collaborate with a number of excellent student societies. We highly encourage you to get involved with the Business and Enteprise Society and Enactus to develop business skills, learn more about the entrepreneurial ecosystem and meet like-minded friends and collaborators.
