Would you like to find out what your chosen career path is really like? Are you looking to gain more insight into a sector? Or do you just have no idea where to start with making your career choices? QTaster gives you the opportunity to experience different sectors, working environments and roles across a range of graduate employers. It is a brilliant opportunity to gain insight into companies who are both well-known and new to you, learn more about the day-to-day culture of different organisations, find out about their graduate application process and get hands-on experience with employers in their own offices!
All employer sessions will take place at offices in a variety of locations around London. These will include presentations by different speakers from across the organisation, tours of the facilities, information about their graduate recruitment process, interactive workshops and facilitated networking sessions. And, of course, the opportunity to ask lots of questions!
The on-campus skills sessions will outline how to make the most of the visits and how to apply your new commercial awareness and professional networking skills to shape your career choices.
You will attend 4 employer visits and 2 skills sessions. These will all take place on Wednesday afternoons.
You can provide preferences and we will try our best to allocate based on these. This may not always be possible, but remember, it is all about different experiences and exploring organisations who are new to you.
QTaster is ideal if you have ever had any doubts or uncertainty about your future career path – the programme gives you a real life insight into individual roles and sectors. It could confirm you are happy with your current direction or you might be inspired by an area you have never heard of! Due to funding, QTaster is only open to Undergraduate students and a limited number of Post Graduate students.

You will increase your skills in commercial awareness and professional networking. By visiting a variety of different organisations, your knowledge of different industries and roles will expand along with your knowledge of how to research careers and companies. It will increase your confidence in networking and many students come away with some valuable contacts. You will also benefit from face-to-face coaching from professional experts who will help you apply what you’ve learnt so you can get ahead.
Successful completion of QTaster will appear on your HEAR (Higher Education Achievement Record). The programme is designed and structured to complement the development of your professional skills.
