Future Global Leaders Forum

The Future Global Leaders Forum is a new programme enabling students to work and learn together and build the skills, mindset and cultural agility needed in a future global leader. The focus is on taking leadership and driving positive change across our campuses and local community.

How will this help you progress your career journey?

For those looking to acquire experience, the Future Global Leaders Forum is a great way to develop a range of sought after skills, and gives you experiences that you can reference in future applications. You might also find the opportunity useful if you are exploring your career options, as it will provide you with the opportunity to learn about your strengths and preferences in a working context.

The Future Global Leaders Forum 2020 has two project streams:

Stream 1: Campus Projects

Stream 2: Non-Profit Organisation Projects

These are accompanied by a programme of skills development sessions and work shadowing opportunities.

All students from the Future Global Leaders Forum participate in the Global Leaders Summit, networking with influential leaders, presenting your project and receiving feedback on your work. This will take place in early April.

Eligibility

This opportunity is available to all Queen Mary students, both UK and international. You should be available to contribute to your project from the end of January to the end of March and participate in the Global Leaders Summit in early April.

Commitment

The expected number of hours for the work experience project is 25 hours over 10 weeks. Projects and skills sessions will begin at the end of January and continue through the end of March.  Skills sessions will take place on Wednesday afternoons (as far as possible) and project meetings will be agreed as a team. All participants of the Future Global Leaders Forum are expected to attend and contribute to the Global Leaders Summit event in early April.

Participation in the Future Global Leaders Forum is eligible for inclusion on the HEAR transcript. This requires engagement with the work experience project and the skills sessions.
